In commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and to the mission of the church, and through the enabling of the Holy Spirit, American Baptist Women's Ministries provide opportunities for each woman and girl to:
- become and develop as God's person
- build God's faith community
- serve God's word
All the women of First Baptist Church are members of the American Baptist Women's Ministries. Some members also belong to one of the two circles. The ABWM meets twice a year, in May and September, for general meetings at the church under the direction of President Anna Suerken. Circles meet monthly.
Morning Glory Circle
The Morning Glory Circle is a group of diverse ladies of various ages who have one thing in common. We all love the Lord.
We participate in various ABWM affiliated causes, such as Women and Girls Fund, White Cross, and Care and Share Fund. We help support a scholarship student and remember our shut ins with cards and gifts. We try to make a monetary donation to one of our missionaries each year. In our community we support Boys and Girl's Club and Eve, a shelter for women and children. Our favorite charity is The Gospel Mission Food Pantry, each month we bring items for them. They not only feed the body but feed the soul.
We enjoy interesting programs each meeting. During the summer months we meet for lunch. The fellowship we share is very important to us and as we grow closer to God, we find ourselves growing closer to each other.
We meet at 9:15 a. m. the first Thursday of each month. For more information contact Dixie Brown - 373-1786
